The short answer
Yes. Content Coaching with Jen Newcombe is built for business owners and experts who want to create their own content, with a strategist in their corner.
Jen is a co-founder of The App Chicks and has worked in social media since 2007. She says, "You don't need to be a natural. You just need to be willing to hit record."
Who it's for
Jen says most business owners she meets are full of good material. Then the camera comes out, and they freeze, ramble or wait for a perfect day that never comes.
She has coached doctors, founders and front-desk teams through that moment. Her view is that what changes them is a clear idea, a little practice and someone who tells them the truth about what's working.
The two kinds of session
Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes.
- Brainstorm sessions. You dig into your business, your audience and the stories hiding in your everyday work. You leave with ideas, hooks and a plan for what to say.
- Strategy and implementation sessions. You map your strategy, then work on camera together. You and your staff can then film with confidence on your own.
Sessions run virtually for clients anywhere. Around North Phoenix, they can also be in person.
What's included
Jen lists these as part of Content Coaching:
- Brainstorm sessions to find your content ideas
- Hooks, talking points and simple scripts
- On-camera practice with honest feedback
- Coaching for owners and staff
- Filming tips for phones and simple setups
- Equipment recommendations based on your goals
- A content plan you can keep using after you finish
By the end, you and your team can plan, shoot and post on your own.
Coaching she's done
Jen names three examples from her own work:
| Client | Coaching she describes |
|---|---|
| Dr. Thomas Lodi | Video coaching. She describes him as internationally recognized in integrative oncology. |
| Hydreight | Social media training for every new partner business. |
| Rainbow Ryders | In-house film strategy and staff coaching. |
She doesn't publish results numbers for any of them, so we don't either.
Coaching or full-service management
Jen says the choice can be simpler than owners make it. Ask whether you want to stay in control with professional guidance, or hand some or all of it to someone else.
Coaching suits you if you have time to create, edit and schedule. It also suits you if you're comfortable taking direction and your budget doesn't yet support ongoing management.
She says you might find you're perfectly capable of managing your own accounts. Or you might learn how much work is involved and decide to hand it over. Either way, you'll decide with better information.
What it costs
Coaching is built around the sessions you need. Jen doesn't publish a fixed price for it. It's month-to-month with no contracts.
Who this isn't for
Coaching works best when you show up ready to try. If you won't set aside time to film, it isn't the right fit.
If you'd rather hand the whole thing off, her management service covers that. Jen also offers video editing for owners who film it themselves and want it polished.
