Confie
The Story
Jesse McHale is a professional photographer from the bay area, California. She was looking to create an app that would allow users to take selfies and instantly share them with friends on Twitter with auto-generated messages. She did some research online and The App Chicks caught her attention.
“There are many selfie apps in the market, but none that allows exclusively Twitter sharing. I thought how fun it would be to create one. And I was right. It was fun. Users are loving it.” -Jesse McHale
The Challenge
When Jesse shared her unique idea with us, we were instantly hooked. As this was a one-of-a-kind idea, the solution from our end also had to be one-of-a-kind. The key challenges of this app were: processing of a large number of photos, a simple yet distinct user interface and a stable as well as well-optimized backend server side. User profile creation and moderation was also one of the challenges. We had to add features in both the front and backend to auto-ban unscrupulous users and protect the user’s content. This is where The App Chicks stepped up the game.
“Carey and Jen have an excellent team. They have provided the highest degree of flexibility and user-friendliness. They have been great throughout the project. I look forward to working with them again in the future.” – Jesse McHale
The Solution
The App Chicks generated better quality content by requiring users to authenticate their account in order to use the app. After some A/B testing, we added social features such as liking and commenting. This generated more active user engagement from and time spent within the app. For effective data gathering and keeping the interface clear, our team built a strong backend application module.
With the social aspect in play, user base of Confie grew impressively.
